Origin of the Fontanella Family
- Fontanella di Udine.
- Fontanella di Torino and di Vigone.
The ancestors came from Como, through their progenitor Stipete Luigi, from Curione in that city during the 16th century. In 1590, four Fontanella brothers settled in Torino and later in Chieri around 1630.

First Immigrants
The first immigrants who came to Brazil arrived in the middle of 1875 and settled in lot 112 of Linha Palmeiro: Estefano Fontanella and Maria Mariot, Giacomo Fontanella and Vittória de Cesaro, followed by their children.

Gioachino or Giacomo Fontanella family: married to Vittória de Cesaro.
Agostino Fontanella: born in 1880, married Nicodema Daltora on July 7, 1902, at the age of 22.
Francesco Fontanella: born in 1874, married Francesca de Cesaro on July 1, 1897.
Joanna Fontanella: married Decesaro.
Romana Fontanella: born in 1865, wife of Zalot, died on November 27 or 22, 1884, at the age of 19.
Stefano Fontanella family: married to Maria Mariot.
Agostino Fontanella: born on April 10, 1861, married Angela de Bona on May 5, 1886, died on July 1, 1904, leaving 11 children.
Arcângelo Fontanella: born in 1864, married Joanna de Bona on April 30, 1890, died on April 4, 1936. Son of João and Eliza Bez.
Pietro Fontanella: died on August 22, 1882, husband of Pierina Bez, with 5 children.
Ângelo Fontanella: born in 1912, married Tereza Titon on January 4, 1936. Son of João Fontanella and Maria Bez, born in Urussanga-SC.
Catarina de Bona Fontanella: born in Beluno in 1830, married Estevão (Stefano) Fontanella, died on June 13, 1908, daughter of Antonio de Bona.
Fontanella Family Gathering
The first Fontanella family gathering took place on June 15, 2003, at Clube Farrapos in Farroupilha, Rio Grande do Sul, one of the cradles of Italian immigration in the region.
